"Hi Bob- I had an unexpected day off, and climbed North Sister today from Pole Creek via the SE ridge. For so late in the year, the weather was spectacular, and I didn't see anyone until the point where the south ridge meets the southeast ridge at about 9500 ft. There I met a fellow (also climbing alone and on North Sister for the first time), and we climbed the rest of the way together. The traverse was very unnerving. I don't think I will go there again unless the whole thing is covered in good, firm snow. --Scott"
Note - Scott is in terrific aerobic shape and is very fast, bold and careful. Don't try this at home! --Bob Speik
