Photos of Badlands "Road 8" damage sent to Commissioners

Email dated March 29, 2005
to: Joe Stutler, County Forester and the Deschutes County Commissioners

Hello Mr. Stutler-
Here are photos taken today of vehicle-only trashing of the Badlands WSA. Depredations of this sort do not occur in Wilderness, since these acts are vehicle facilitated.

Cutting the baby in half tends to kill the baby. Cutting a unique road through The Badlands will continue to cause bad feelings and strife between motorized and non-motorized people. Let the big toy people have their 200,000 acres and 643 miles of trails next to The Badlands and the walkers, hunters, birders, backpackers and hikers have some peace and quiet in a Congressionally protected Wilderness
--Robert and Margaret Speik
